Unseasonably warm temperatures in Southern California did not keep hundreds of people from taking part in a winter tradition.

Temperatures soared into the lower 90s in downtown Los Angeles, Calif., on Sunday. So an outdoor skating rink seemed a little out of place.

But these people took advantage of the rink, attempting to spend more time skating then falling on the ice.

Some said the skating even helped them get into the holiday spirit.
